I have had the pleasure of managing a ringette team, coached by Shanon, for my daughters first 2 seasons.
Our team hit the jackpot getting to have her as a coach. Shanon is able to form a connection with each player, getting to know them as she helps them grow. My daughter had a great relationship with coach Shanon. They joked around and had fun. Shanon was also very encouraging of my daughter as a player and as a person. She promoted team work, encouragement and support while doing so herself.
Shanon is able to command the kids attention while creating a fun learning environment. Our players experienced tremendous growth in terms of their skating abilities. My daughter had about 3 hours of skating experience prior to joining ringette on Shanon’s team. After 2 seasons she skates backwards, uses her edges, skates fast and with confidence.
Shanon took our team all the way to Gold in the finals this season.

Shanon is an expert in her field and so gifted with young athletes, which is not an easy combination to find! For the past two years, Shanon has been the head coach of our daughter's ringette team, and her passion for assisting young athletes was evident. Through Shanon's skills and knowledge, our team quickly advanced in their power skating and edgework, setting them apart from their competitors. Shanon is an excellent motivator and finds unique ways to reach each athlete. She is invested in the development of her players and always keeps the girls engaged and excited to push themselves to the next level!
We have been fortunate to have Shanon as a head coach on our youngest daughter's ringette team for the past two years. It has been a wonderful experience for us as parents and for our daughter who is 7 years old.
Shanon has different methods to coach and motivate kids to be active participants in practice and games, and is able to adapt to the child. I have been amazed at the development I have seen in my daughters skating. Shanon's focus on edge work and proper skating movements has been fun to watch.
Being impressed with Shanon's ability, I registered both my kids in power skating lessons coached by Shanon this spring and the progression was immediately noticed by both. The best part is that both my daughters loved the lessons so it was never an issue to get them there.
